Wayne Hollis YORK Robert Wayne Hollis, 74, of 73 5th Street died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at his home. There will be a graveside service at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Bratton Funeral Home. Wayne was a son of the late William Avery and Sarah Childers Hollis. He was retired from Cannon Mills. Wayne enjoyed all sports, especially football. In 1957 he was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl and for many years he held the chains for the York football games. In 2003 he was inducted into the York High School Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed stock car racing. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Hollis of the home, daughter, Julie Hollis of Lake Wylie, son, Scott Hollis of York, and step-daughter Lisa Tittle of Belmont, NC. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Thomason and Lunette English, and two brothers William Hollis and Ronnie Hollis. The family would like to thank all of the friends that Wayne had.
