Wannetta Faye, 58 died Sunday, August 14, 2011, in her sleep at home in Teaneck, NJ. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Faye was the daughter of late Fred J. Simpkins and Rev. Dr. Virginia S. Tucker and step-father Garfield Tucker Jr. of Camden and the grandchild of the late Sarah B. Jackson. Faye, who resided in Teaneck, New Jersey, was a Christian and loved the Lord. At an early age, she received her religious training and baptism in Mt. Zion Baptist church (Kirkwood), Camden, SC. She was a member of the Evergreen church in New Jersey. Faye was a pianist, spiritual leader, and minister of music for several churches in the New Jersey area. She was called upon to be a guest speaker in East Orange, NJ churches. All who knew her called her a “Praying Women of God, who believed in the power of prayer.” Faye attended Jackson High and graduated in 1971 from Camden High School. She furthered her education in New Jersey and Philadelphia colleges. Her occupation was a Home Health Care Specialist, where she received numerous recognitions of being an arduous worker and having a great work ethic. Faye leaves to cherish and celebrate her homegoing, a loving husband, John Mansfield two daughters, Charmaine Denise Haskins (Anthony) of Lugoff,SC Latashia Ann Branch (Everette) of Pennsylvania four grandchildren - Ch''Vonne, Joy, Ezekial, and Jeremiah a supportive Mother-In-Law, Ms. Addie Mae Sailor, five sister-n-laws, a brother-n-law, a step-father, Garfield Tucker Jr. of Camden, SC, six siblings Vanessa McClintock (Lawrence) of Columbia, SC,, Greta T. Attoh (Joseph) of Calhoun, GA, Carmen T. Alston (Milton) of Camden, SC, Susan Robertson (James) of Newberry, SC, Eugene Simpkins Sr.(Brenda) of Mokena, IL, and Donald Tucker (Audrey) of Camden, SC and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held in Patterson, New Jersey the funereal will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Kirkwood), Saturday, at 2:00 PM, with the burial in the Sanders Creek Cemetery.
