Walter Thompkins

Funeral services for Mr. Walter L. Thompkins, Sr., of Dublin, will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the C. D. Dudley Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Reverend Charlie Robinson will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Thompkins was born on April 18, 1949, to Aaron Thompkins and Annie T. Ricks Clark. He was born and raised in Laurens County, Georgia, and, at any early age, joined Mount Sinai Healing Temple in East Dublin under the leadership of his uncle, Elder Tommy Ricks. He was retired from Evans Cabinet Company. He loved his children and his family. Mr. Thompkins passed away on November 29, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethelreen Thompkins, and by his siblings, Curtis Parks, Valton Parks, Aaron Thompkins, and Lissie Ann Thompkins.

Mr. Thompkins is survived by his sons, Jerome Locke of Dublin, Calvin Thompkins of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Walter (Miranda) Thompkins, Jr., of Pooler, daughters, Jacqueline (John) Wells of Dublin, Vickie (James) Holliman of Dublin, grandchildren, Travis Locke, Jonathan Wells, Natoysha Wells, Brittany Johnson, Brianna Holliman, Tyanna Locke, Isiah Mills, Jerome Locke, Jaquan Jones, Miya Jones, Jamil Thompkins, Jamiracle Thompkins, Jamiya Mitchell, Jamario Mitchell, Xavier Thompkins, and Caitlynn Thompkins, sisters, Alberta Thomas of Dublin, Roberta Harris of Elmira, New York, brothers, Jimmy (Geraldine) Parks of Elmira, New York, Grady Thompkins of Elmira, New York, James (Ola Bell) Thompkins of Augusta, Robert (Luevada) Thompkins of Dublin, in-laws, Letha Copeland of East Dublin, Emma and Ulysses Stuckey of Cincinnati, Ohio, Patricia and James King of East Dublin, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 1100 Rutland Drive in Dublin.
