Lewis Burns YORK Walter Lewis Burns, 77, of 575 Willie Lane died Monday, February 27, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. The funeral will be at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday March 1, 2012 at Tirzah A.R.P. Church with the Rev. Bob Elliott officiating. Burial will be at Tirzah A.R.P. Church Cemetery. A native of York, Lewis was a son of the late John Walter and Willie Mae Sealy Burns. He was a retired machinist for Duff-Norton in Charlotte, and worked at the Tirzah convenience center. Lewis was a member of Tirzah A.R.P. Church where he joined in 1961, became a deacon 12/1981, an Elder 1/1999, an Elder Emertius 2/2010, and was a member of the church cemetery committee. Lewis was considered the Honorary Mayor of Tirzah, founder of the Tirzah Christmas parade, member of the Gideons, York Woodworkers Club, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by wife Alliene McClure Burns, three sons and their wives Steven Burns (Debbie), Kenny Burns (Leigh Ann), Martin Burns (Cathy), brother Aubrey Burns (Joyce), two sisters, Irene Bell (Bob), Maryann Boulware (Trez), three grandchildren Andrew Burns, Melissa Burns, Christopher Burns & A.J., and one great-grandchild, Willow Burns. Visitation will be held at Tirzah A.R.P. Church on Wednesday February 29, 2012 from 3:30-5:30. Memorials may be made to Tirzah A.R.P. Church Cemetery Association, 6161 Mt.
