Waldon McClurg

Age 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Waldon Eugene was born in Bergholz, Ohio to the late William Earl and Phyllis Rose Carmen McClurg on February 2, 1922. He was a retired automobile mechanic from West End Motors in Wintersville, Ohio. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Irondale, Ohio. Nicknamed "Bud," he is survived by a son, Randy (Tracy) McClurg of Louisville; daughters, Pam Obermann of Steubenville, Ohio, and Paula Obermann of Martins Ferry, Ohio; step-sons, Kenneth (Beverly) Cox of Boardman, Ohio, Ronald (Joyce) Cox of Canton, Ohio, and Raymond Cox of Akron, Ohio; step-daughters, Sandy (John) Brasko of Barberton, Ohio, and Brenda (Dennis) Goad of Desoto, Missouri; and dear loving friend, Barb Ross of Canton, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Laura Virginia Wilson McClurg in 1982; wife, Betty Cox Sayler McClurg in 2003; son, Terry McClurg; brother, Dale (Verna) McClurg; and sisters, Mary (Louie) Caruso, Wilda (Harold) Boyd, and Shirley (Emerson) Boyd. Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Cox Funeral Home in Barberton, Ohio. A Memorial Service and burial will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2011 at the Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville, Ohio. Papa Bud loved the Lord with all his heart! His hobbies included: camping, sewing, karaoke, traveling, and leather-working.
