Funeral services for Ms. Virginia Alice Thomas, 56, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 12 PM in the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lockett Family Cemetery in Eastman.

Ms. Thomas was born on November 13, 1957, and on Tuesday, March 5, 2014, was called home to eternal rest in Dublin. During her childhood, she attended Peabody Middle School in Eastman. Ms. Thomas later moved to New Jersey and attended Job Corps where she received her Certificate of High School Equivalency. She then moved to Richmond, Virginia, which became her home for 40 years. While there, she joined Mount Sinai Baptist Church. In 2011, she moved back to Georgia to be reunited with her mother, sisters and brother.

Ms. Thomas is preceded in death by her father, Leory Thomas; grandmother, Maybell King; and nephew, Charles Patterson.

Ms. Thomas leaves to cherish her loving memory her mother, Rether M. Wright; sisters, Janice Henley, devoted sister, Drucilla (Ronald) Patterson, Lurena Easterly, and Jennifer (Ricky) Jones; one brother, Felix Thomas all of Dublin; Betty Speights, Jerome Thomas, Ben Thomas all of Florida, Leory (Lisa) Thomas, Earnestine (Ross) Marcus, Brenda (Joshua) Spears all of South Carolina; step-mother, Verstine Thomas of Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at 816 Elk Street, Dublin.
