HICKORY GROVE -- Virgie Martin Burns, 80, of 5737 Wylie Avenue passed away Thursday, March 06, 2014, at Brookview Health Care in Gaffney.
The funeral will be 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Broad River Baptist with Mr. Kevin Ramsey, Rev. Rick Fuller and Rev. Dale Welch officiating. Burial will be at Broad River Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 6-7:30 P.M. at Bratton Funeral Home in York.
Virgie was a daughter of the late Trude Carlton Martin and Mary Etta Pruitt Martin. She was the widow of James William Burns. She was a member of Broad River Baptist Church and she retired as a seamstress at Oxford Mills in Hickory Grove.
Virgie is survived by 2 daughters Carol Ramsey (Jerry) of Hickory Grove, SC, Emily Hale (Randy) of Smyrna, SC, brother Grady Martin of Hickory Grove, SC. and 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
