Funeral services for Mrs. Vera McBride, of Wrens, Georgia, will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at 1 PM at the Community Missionary Baptist Church, 627 James Grove Church Road, Wrightsville. Pastor Perry Burden will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, 368 Bill Oliver Road, Wrightsville.
Mrs. Vera McBride was born on October 24, 1959, in Johnson County, Georgia, to the late Mr. Willie James Scott and Mrs. Elnora Wright Scott. She graduated from Johnson County High School in 1978, and from Swainsboro Technical College as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was formerly employed at the ABC Health Care in Wrightsville, and was currently employed at the Carl Vinson Medical Center in Dublin.
Mrs. McBride loved God, her family, friends and shopping. She was a kind and beautiful person. She fought this battle with courage, strength and with a smile on her face. Her physical body will be missed, but her spirit will stay with us until we see her again. On Sunday, August 10, 2019, Mrs. Vera McBride made her transition from labor to reward at the University Hospital in Richmond County, Augusta, Georgia.
Mrs. McBride will be cherished and loved by a devoted husband of twenty years, Melvin McBride, her siblings, Kathlean Lee, and Nettie (Willie) Swint, of Wrightsville, a stepdaughter, Melanie Y. McBride, a granddaughter, Imaree L. McBride, both of Wrens, Georgia, five sisters-in-law, Gloristeen (Wayne) Williams of Augusta, Georgia, Mary E. Wright of Wrightsville, three were very devoted, Mary Walker of Wrens, Georgia, Brenda (Eddie L.) Williams of Waynesboro, Georgia, and Lee Ella Taylor of Wrightsville, four brothers-in-law, Leotis (Ethel) McBride of Waynesboro, Georgia, Gary Jones of Wrens, Georgia, Craig N. McBride of Atlanta, and Ray Charles Smith of Louisville, Georgia, two goddaughters, Brittany Pullen, and Sequanna (Andrew) Powell of Wrightsville, one aunt, Mrs Winnie Johnson of Wrightsville, two devoted cousins, Ossie (Alvin) Moorman, and Jerry (Kenneth) Williams, both of Wrightsville, a devoted friend, Sandra Pullen of Wrightsville, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
