Funeral services for Mr. Ulyssess Thomas of Stone Mountain, Georgia, will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 1 PM, at the Greater Union Grove Church of God In Christ, 4780 Highway 80 in Montrose. Elder Phillip Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas, who was born on April 24, 1954, to Mrs. Hazel Thomas and the late William Thomas, Jr. He departed this life on April 3, 2016. Mr. Thomas was a member of Antioch Lakewood Mission Baptist Church, North in Atlanta. He worked at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Atlanta and in Dublin in the nutrition department.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Dewayne Thomas and his siblings, David, Parker and Rebecca Thomas.

He is survived by his mother, Hazel J. Thomas; sons, Kendrick Thomas, Travis Martin; daughter, Miranda Watkins-Thomas; sisters, Harriett (David) Pryor, Macon, Daisy P. (Joe) Stuckey, Dublin, Joanne T. (James) McNeal, Montrose; brothers, Willie B. (Patricia) Thomas, Michael L, Thomas both of Dublin, Marion Thomas, Montrose, Wendell E. (Violet) Thomas, Biloxi, Mississippi, Phillip (Angela) Thomas, Fayetteville, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Thelma Thomas; friend and caregiver, Terrlyn Usher, Conyers; grandchildren, Porcha B. Thomas, Shaeraven D. Thomas, Semaj Sanford, Mathew Thomas, Sean Thomas, Aneikque Martin, Hannah Kates and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, Mrs. Hazel Thomas, at 864 Fletcher Thomas Road in Montrose.
