Funeral services for Mrs. Tracie Patrice Vaughn Miller of Beaumont, Texas, will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 2 PM at New Birth Ministries, 900 Martin Luther King Drive in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.
She was born January 23, 1970, to Reverend Dr. Johnny (Bessie) Vaughn and Iris Faye (Donald) Wells. Mrs. Miller answered the call of God on Friday, August 1, 2014, in Beaumont, Texas.
A graduate of Dublin High School, Mrs. Miller later attended Middle Georgia College where she earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. She also attended Troy University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She was actively pursuing her masters degree from Troy University when God called her home. She was employed with the Texas Department of Family and Children Services as a Specialist 4. She has always been an advocate for the humanitarian rights of children and was an exceptional wife, parent and daughter.
Mrs. Miller was the vice president of the board of directors for Community Hope Center, Inc. before she relocated to Beaumont, Texas. She made many friends all over the state of Georgia with the Department of Juvenile Justice.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, Tyrus R. Miller, Sr.. of Beaumont, Texas; sons: Travon Robert Miller, Tray Johnny Robert Miller, Solomon Delaney, Malcolm Delaney and Shomari Delaney, all of Beaumont, Texas and Tyrus Miller, Jr. of Norfolk, Virginia; parents, Rev. Dr. Johnny (Bessie) Vaughn of Dublin and Iris Faye (Donald) Wells of Beaumont, Texas; sisters: Stacie Vaughn of Beaumont, Texas; Julie Vaughn of Frankful, Germany; Michelle Johnnie Vaughn, Nicole (Robert) Williams and Deirdre Todd of Dublin and Cosonja (Leonard) Jefferson of Macon; brothers: Johnny Vaughn, III of Dublin; Johnny Vaughn, Jr., Kansas and MSGT Mackenzie (Yokisha) Wright of Palmdale, California; a devoted mother-in-law, Palarie B. Miller of Dublin; brother-in-laws: MSGT Eric R. Miller (Jessie) of San Diego, California and Madrid J. Miller of Dublin; aunts: Earlene Renfroe and Linie Turner (Johnnie Knight) of Dublin; uncles: Roosevelt Charleston and J. D. (Beatrice) Plummer of Dublin; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home of her parents, Reverend and Mrs. Johnny Vaughn, 128 Parker Dairy Road in Dublin.
