Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Lee Davis, of East Dublin. will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 1 PM at the Williams Chapel Baptist Church,1142 Ga Highway 29 South in East Dublin . Reverend James F. Sherman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Williams Chapel Mission Cemetery.

Mr. Davis who passed on June 12, 2016, was born on April 30, 1925, to the late Thomas Davis and Inez Nelson. Mr. Davis was born in Jefferson County, Georgia. He attended Washington County High School. He joined the Condor Methodist Church at an early age.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on December 29, 1943. He received a certificate of Honorable and Satisfactory Service after serving in World War II and was honorable discharged on May 20, 1946. He returned to Dublin and began working at the Navy Hospital (now known as the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center).

In 1993, Mr. and Mrs. Davis returned to Dublin and joined the Williams Chapel Baptist Church. He was later installed as a Deacon and he served eight years as Chairman of the Deacons Ministry until his health declined.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Butler Davis, a sister, Zenobia Davis, and by a nephew, John Davis.

His memories will forever be cherished by a loving daughter, Juanita (George) Smith of St. Petersburg, Florida; two grandsons, Gerrin (Sabel) McKinnie, Sr. of Mountville, Pennsylvania, and Jorge W. Smith of Miami, Florida; five nephews, Harold (Doletha) Davis of Benettfield, South Carolina, Gilbert Davis of Bellevue, Nebraska, Clarence Davis of Queens, New York, Prentice Stewart of Alpharetta; Arthur Stewart of Gary Indiana; one niece, Patricia Callaway; two cousins, Ralph (Van) Arline of Leesville, Pennsylvania, Tommy (Hortense) Ray, Dublin; five great grandchildren; one great great grandson, and a life long cousin, Doris Turner of Wadley and a host of other cousins and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, 6-7 pm.
