Funeral services for Mr. Tommie Lee “Pal” Montford, of Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at 12 PM at the Community Missionary Baptist Church at 627 James Grove Church Road in Wrightsville. Reverend Clifford Hunter will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Montford was born on July 27, 1941, in Wrightsville, Georgia. He attended the Doc Kemp School. He was very respected for his work in East Dublin as a truck driver for the city. After he retired, he kept busy with various collectibles including televisions, and radios. Mr. Montford passed away on August 17, 2017.

Mr. Tommie Montford was preceded in death by six sisters, Ruby Dell Montford, Annie Mae Montford, Nora Hicks, Nadine Elbert, Mary Lizzie Waters, and Arleane Ray, three brothers, Leo Montford, Elijah Montford Sr., and John Montford.


Mr. Montford leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Rose Gilbert Montford, his children including four sons; Tommie Lee (Karen) Montford Jr., Tyrone Bell, Angelo Glenn all of East Orange, New Jersey; and Therion Gilbert of Dublin, one brother, David (Dianne) Montford of Adrian, and one sister, Mary Alice (Perlie) Blair of Wrightsville, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Inez Montford of Miami, Florida, Vera Gilbert and Blanche Gilbert, both of Dublin, two brothers-n-law, Charles (Angie Bell) Gilbert and Willie (Pearline) Gilbert, all of Dublin, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 532 Rutland Drive in Dublin.
