Timothy Mannion

Timothy Vincent Mannion, 941953 to 4232011 Tim, age 57 of Grand Junction, Colorado, formerly of Denver, Colorado after a valiant fight for nine months died from a rare brain tumor. He was born to Marilyn (surviving) and Robert Mannion (deceased), in Denver Colorado. He always tried his best whether it was coaching, being a great father, brother, friend, husband Councilman or Unionist and many other things. He coached multiple generations of Little League Baseball and football spanning close to thirty years. He is a graduate of Central High School and Mesa State College. He proudly served as a volunteer Airborne Army soldier during the Vietnam era. In keeping with his life of service to mankind he served as a Grand Junction City Councilman and President of the Council Pro Tempore in 1985 and 1986. He retired from the United States Postal Service in October of 2009. He died while serving as the Local Union President, State Director of Education and a National Advocate for the American Postal Workers Union. Tim was a rock and advisor for hundreds of people across the nation. He received an immense amount of joy in helping people who needed his many skills and talents. Many people would say he always gave of himself to help another person. He is survived by his wife Latrisa Mannion, children Nicole Montano, Ty Mannion, Hunter Mannion and three grandsons Toni, Andres, and Alex Montano. He is also survived by his brothers Robert of Craig, Thomas of Denver, and a sister Jenny Carfrae of Iowa. He is also survived by his in-laws all of Grand Junction, Richard and Joy Wagner, Victoria Wagner, Nancy and Steve Bennett, several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, members and the many players he coached throughout the years. His life although brief touched many people. In honor of this great man a Celebration of His Life will be held May 7 from 4-8 pm at the Double Tree Hotel.
