Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Brown Swayne of Danville will be on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 2:00 PM at the Greater Union Grove Church of God In Christ, 4780 Highway 80 in Montrose. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Montrose. Bishop John Wayne Leggett will officiate. Mr. Swayne, who passed on December 9, 2012, was born on April 9, 1920, to the late Pete and Mittie Lee Swayne. He was married to the late Mrs. Elvenia Swayne. He was a faithful custodian at J.M. Huber Corporation and was a part-time farm worker for many years. He was a loving and faithful member of Union Grove/Greater Union Grove Church of God in Christ where he was a former YPWW Secretary and a former guitar player. He loved playing his tamborene. Mr. Swayne leaves to cherish his memories a devoted son, Eltred T. (Barbara) Swayne, Sr. of Dublin; a devoted daughter, Evelyn Swayne of Danville; five grandchildren, Barbara F. Swayne, Yvonne (Dedric) Nesbitt, Rhonda ( Rev. Jamie) Paulk all of Dublin, Eltred T. Swayne, Jr. (Kasie) of Fort Valley and Stephanie Swayne of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Alexander and Malia Swayne, Christopher and Caitlyn Nesbitt, Kaori Cornelius, Isaiah and Isaic Paulk; sisters-in-law, Dollie Mae Downing of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Louise W. Carswell of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Peggy (Edward) Jones of Dublin, Gloria Thomas of Atlanta and the late Johnnie Mae Foreman; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lee (Ethel) Carswell of Dry Branch, Ellis Carswell (Louise) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, James Thomas of Dudley, Jerry (Mary) Thomas of Montrose, Horace Anderson of Macon, and the late, Willie Carswell and the late Rev. Otto Foreman, Sr.; a devoted long time friend, Lucille Brown of Jacksonville, FL, and a host of nieces, great-nephews other relatives and friends.
