Funeral services for Mr. Theodore Allen, of Dublin, will be held at 12 PM on Friday, October 12, 2018, at the First African Baptist Church, 405 Telfair Street in Dublin. Reverend Keith Anderson will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Theodore Allen, was born on June 28, 1947, in Macon, Georgia. He was the younger son of the late John and Addie Mae Allen. Mr. Allen began his Christian journey under the spiritual leadership of Rev. Dumas at Greater Lizzieboro Baptist Church in Macon. He joined and has been a faithful member of First African Baptist Church since 1972.

Mr. Allen was educated in the Bibb County Public School System. He was a 1965 graduate of the Peter G. Appling High School and received a nursing degree from Gary School of Vocational Nursing in San Marcos, Texas. He worked at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin for many years. Theodore graduated from Tucker Cosmetology School in Dublin in 1985. He also graduated from The Cason Theological Institute with a Diploma in Biblical Studies in 2017.

Mr. Allen met the love of his life, Doris Allen, in 1969. They married and were blessed with the birth of their three loving daughters. He loved cooking for his family and friends and he loved spending time with his family and making everyone laugh. His greatest love and passion was his relationships with God, family, friends and his ministries. He was actively involved in the choir and kitchen ministries at First African Baptist Church.

He passed away on October 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, his loving brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Mary Allen and his loving father-in-law and mother-in-law, Deacon Henry and Georgia Mae Gibson.



The essence of Mr. Allen’s loving spirit will forever live in the hearts of his wife, Doris Jeanelle, his children, Dr. LaWanda (Eric) Kemp, Ava (Spencer) Moore, and Dr. Angela Allen, his niece, Addie Williams-Allen, his four grandchildren, John (Trey) Dixon III, Alani Moore, Bryson Kemp and Kennedy Kemp, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 314 Eleanor Drive in Dublin.
