Teroy Strange

Services for Deacon Teroy Strange, of Toomsboro, Georgia, will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at 12 PM at the Jordan Stream Baptist Church, Toomsboro. Pastor A. L. Gordon will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Teroy Strange was born on July 16, 1934, to the late Oscar and Arnetter Strange. As a young child, he joined the Jordan Stream Baptist Church where he served faithfully as an usher, chairman of the deacon board, superintendent of Sunday school, and president of the Ushers’ Convention. He was also a lead singer for the Moon Globes Gospel Singers. For many years, Deacon Strange worked as a logger with the late Mr. Waymon Lord. He later became a custodian and bus driver with the Wilkinson County Board of Education. He served as a bus driver for forty-six years where he made many friends and won the hearts of many children.

On June 13, 1954, Deacon Strange was united in holy matrimony to Jeanelle Fordham. They recently celebrated sixty-four years of marriage. He was the father of six children. Deacon Strange passed away on August 3, 2108. One of his children, Mr. Frankie L. Taylor, preceded him in death.
Deacon Teroy leaves to cherish his wonderful memories a loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Jeanelle F. Strange, a son, Michael Strange of Toomsboro, daughters: Lisa (Anthony) Pitts, Amanda (Mark) Dawson, Connie (William) Smith, and Tracy Strange; two nephews whom he helped to raise as his own: Travis (D’Netra) Smith and Terrance Smith; brother: Leroy (Laura) Strange, sisters: Martha (J W) Whipple, Mary (Royce) Whipple, and Annie Whipple; sister in laws: Vickie (Eddie) Griffin, Inez Strange, and Gloria Strange, along with fourteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. .
The family is receiving friends at 4248 Old Balls Ferry Road in Toomsboro daily limited from 12 PM until 8 PM.
