Sidney Harold Tait - Obituary Sidney Harold Tait, 69, of Riverside, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, August 19, 2020, at UAB hospital. Sid was born in Mobile, AL, the youngest of six children. He graduated from Satsuma High School in Satsuma, AL in 1969. He was a resident of Riverside, AL for the past three years, and prior to that, he was a resident of Deer Park, AL in Washington County, for 25 years. Sid is survived by his loving wife, Sue Thompson Tait, of 39 years; daughter Denise (Keeley) Moore of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren, Patrick Moore, Micah Moore, Taylor Moore, and Mackenzie Moore; two sisters, Cynthia Ciaburri of Riverside, AL and Carol (Roy) Cowan of Fairhope, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and longtime friends. Sid was a loving husband, Dad, Pawpaw, brother, brother-in-law, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. Tait, and Betty Mae Drummond Tait; three older brothers, Jerry, Larry, and Jimmy Tait; and three nephews, Ernest Tait, David Ciaburri, and Jerry Tait, Jr. Sid was a Boilermaker for 20 years, and worked out of Local 112 in Mobile, AL before he retired in 2004. He loved sports, especially football, and his favorite team was the Alabama Crimson Tide. In retirement, he also enjoyed reading, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends whenever he could. He will be greatly missed by those he loved and those who loved him. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will maintain distance and wear masks for a celebration of life Memorial service held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Johns-Ridout’s Funeral Parlors, Southside location in the West Chapel, 2116 University Boulevard, Birmingham, AL 35233.
