Funeral services for Mr. Sammie Lee Freeman, of Dublin, will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the C. D. Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Apostle Kenneth Kates, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Pullen African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery.

Mr. Freeman, who passed on December 20, 2016, was born on December 12, 1944, in Laurens County to the late Elder Linton and Meade Robinson Freeman.

Mr. Freeman graduated from Oconee High. Sammie joined the Army and served his country well and traveled the country before settling in New York where he was employed for many years with the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 2010. He returned to his hometown to be closer to family.

Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Issac Freeman, two sisters, Viola Richardson, Mary Lee Walker, one niece, Margret Thomas, and by five nephews, Johnny Freeman, Steven Thomas, Quenton Camp, Gerald Wells and Towaski Thomas.

Mr. Freeman leaves to cherish his precious memories a sister, Sadie Anderson, Dublin; brother, MacArthur Freeman, Honolulu, Hawaii; nephews, Albert (Ilona) Thomas, St. Roberts, Missouri, Charles (Cynthia) Thomas, Mark (Katherine) Thomas, Dwayne (Marilyn) Farley both of Dublin; Lester (Brenda) Freeman, Rickey (Tinika) Freeman, Tracey Freeman all of Fort Pierce, Florida; nieces, Doris (Adebayo) Adeigbe, Roanoke, Virginia; Jacqueline Freeman, Sharnice (Rod) Chabin both of Fort Pierce, Florida; MaryAnn Coates of Milledgeville; great nieces and nephew; Kevin, Jamaal, Kasia all of Germany, Ernest and Craig of Kansas, Patricia of Huntsville, Alabama, Butch of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Kyla of St. Roberts, Missouri, Selena of El Paso, Texas, Genita (Geno) of Atlanta, Antonio, Shaneka (Billy), Kaneka, Frederick all of Dublin, Tiffany (Cedric), Selena of Augusta, Orianna, Kourtney, Amelia all of Atlanta, Chasity, Allisha, Robert, Chamique all of Dublin, Anthony of Rentz, Elisehia (Chris) of Augusta, and a host of other family and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 158 Blackshear Ferry Circle in Dublin.
