Ruth Moore
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Marian Brown Moore, 71, of Adrian, Georgia, will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the DuBose Porter Center, 560 Pinehill Road in Dublin. Reverend John R. Sutton will preside and Dr. I. E. Mack will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Valdosta Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born on November 26, 1944, as the second child and oldest daughter born to the late Reverend Charles Brown, Sr., and Sister Ludie P. Brown, in East Dublin. She joined the New Evergreen Baptist Church. After marriage, she was a dedicated and faithful member of the Valdosta Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Deaconess Ministry, Choir Ministry (President), Missionary/Women’s Ministry, Adult Church School Ministry, Youth Ministry, and assisted in coordinating special seasonal church programs.
Her beautiful smile and hardworking spirit was demonstrated in every job she held. She worked at Shamrock Pants Factory in Dublin, Apparel Brand in Wrightsville, Treutlen County Nursing Home in Soperton, and Scott Health & Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Adrian where she retired. Mrs. Moore was an excellent cook, known for preparing a full course meal with at least two meats and a dessert in little time. Mrs. Moore passed away on February 25, 2016. Her sibling, Clarence Hunter, preceded her in death.
Fond memories of Mrs. Moore will be forever cherished by her husband, Cecil Moore, Sr.; three sons, Cecil (Tina) Moore, Adrian, Daryl (Renecia) Moore, Dublin, and Spencer (Ava), Snellville; daughter, Terri (Neal) Dixon, Dublin; nine grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Sean Moore, LaKendra Thomas, Kristen Dixon, Kameron Dixon, Meagan (Howard) Bivens, Morgan Moore, Daryl Moore, II, and Alani Moore; one great-granddaughter, Kaliyah Surrey; a loving Mother, Ludie P Brown, East Dublin; siblings, Reverend Charles Brown, Jr. and Marjorie (William) Brazeal, East Dublin, Myrtle Brown, Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Prentice Brown, Zanesville, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, John E. Moore and Thelma M. McCrary, Adrian, Lula M. Walker, Rudolph Moore, Ruth Martin, Sallie Perry, Lessie (McAuthur) Wagstaff, and Asberry (Treva) Moore, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Charles Moore, Sr., Toledo, Ohio; special daughters, Rena Moore and Bonita Outland, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends at 4639 Anderson Pond Road in Adrian, and at the Dubose Porter Center on Sunday,1-3 PM, prior to the service.
