Funeral services for Ms. Ruby Janeshia Crystayla Carswell, of Dublin, will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at 3 PM at the Dublin High School Auditorium, 1127 Hillcrest Parkway in Dublin. Reverend Kendrick Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Tilla Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ms. Carswell, who passed on February 14, 2017, was born on July 1, 1996, to Mark and Kenya Carswell of Dublin. She joined Mount Tilla Baptist Church at a young age under the leadership of Rev. Willie T. Strange. As she continued her Christian journey, she was discipled by Pastor Kendrick Smith. She was actively involved in the youth choir, dance ministry and God's GURLS ministry under the direction of Elect Lady Vivacious Smith; she loved her "Lady V." These youth ministries had a positive impact on her young life. She was a 2014 graduate of Moore Street High School with the Dublin City Schools. She attended Middle Georgia State University in Cochran. She was recently employed by Shamrock Nursing Home and by Huddle House. She enjoyed dancing, taking selfies on her cellphone and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Eddie Lee (Bernice) Carswell, Sr.; three great-grandfathers, Deacon Mark Smith, Sr.,Mr. Wilmer Cecil Walters, Sr. and Deacon Thomas Lowther, Sr.; two great-grandmothers, Katie Mae Smith and Ruby Lowther.

She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Mark and Kenya Carswell of Dublin; one brother, Kendell (Tarnisha Asia) Walters of Dublin, one sister, Markayla (Taquanna) Carswell of Portsmouth, Virginia; grandparents, Cecil Kenneth Walters, Julia L. Simmons, and Betty (Robert) Hall, all of Dublin; one great-grandmother Eula Tolbert of Dublin; two uncles; Eddie Lee (Renia) Carswell of Dublin, Daniel (Emily) Willis of Atlanta; nine aunts; Crystal (DeVaughn) Salter of Dublin, Ramona Stephens of Los Angeles, California, Leslie (Steve) Austin of Jacksonville, Florida, Calandra Wright of Warner Robins, Maz (Anthony) Martin of Vernal, Utah, Daphne Wright of Los Angeles, California; Keshia (Brian) Howell of Dublin, Janika (Timothy) Harris of Dublin, Amber (Chris) Guyton of Dublin, one-god unt, Terrina (Rico) Coney; two nieces, Kennedy and Kyleigh; one goddaughter, Kehlani Preston and a host of great uncles, aunts, cousins and devoted friends.

There will be a memorial service at Dudley Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 18, 6-7 PM Viewing on Sunday, 2-3 PM at the auditorium. Interment and repast will be held at Mount Tilla Baptist Church, 2424 HWY 441 North in Irwinton.

The family is receiving friends at 700 Ridgewood Avenue in Dublin.
