Funeral services for Mrs. Rosena McNear Brewer of Douglasville, will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 2 PM at the Saint Paul AME Church, 308 Rowe Street in Dublin. Reverend Charlie Robinson will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Rosena McNear Brewer was born on September 24, 1954, in Miami, Florida, to Rosia Mae Stanley and the late Stan Anderson. She worked at Apple Courier. She passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 14, 2016.

Rosena enjoyed smiling all of the time. People would say her smile would light up a room. She was always, without hesitation, willing to help anyone in need. It seemed that her motto was "where there is a will there is a way". Her friends, co-workers, and family loved her dearly. She enjoyed dancing and having playtime with her adorable grandkids. She also enjoyed spending time with her cat, “Icyss”, that was like her third child. She loved to travel and experience new adventures. Rosena had the biggest heart. She was a loving and caring grandmother, called "Grandma Sugar" by her grandchildren. Rosena was that big sister and daughter you called upon when you needed that leading force to make something happen. She was the kind of Aunt whom her nieces and nephews referred to, and thought of, as a second mom who would make sure her nieces and nephew were taken care of , and had everything they needed.

She raised, with Lonnie T. McNear, two loving sons, Christopher Reynolds and Lonnie Pierre McNear who were her pride and joy. Rosena’s interest was large family gatherings. She loved the holidays - Christmas was her favorite - as she looked forward to spending time with her family.

She was a very family-oriented person and she loved her family very much and would always say, "Family is All We Got" and "What a Blessing it was to be on this Earth." She always gave praise and would say "Thank You King Jesus".

She was an awesome daughter, wonderful sister, mother, grandmother, wife and loyal friend to many. She will truly be missed, but she will never be forgotten! Her Spirit will continue to live on! Heaven has received another Great Angel!

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her stepfather, Bennett Stanley, her nephew, Tim Brown, and her sister, Bernice Brown, who is survived by her husband, Carlton Brown of Dublin, Georgia, and daughter, Angela Brown Solomon of Macon, Georgia.

Mrs. Rosena McNear Brewer is survived by her husband, Stanley Brewer, Douglasville, Georgia; sons, Chris Reynolds and Lonnie Pierre (Yasmine) McNear all of Atlanta, Georgia, mother, Rosia Mae Stanley, Dublin, Georgia; three sisters, Tanya (Cory) Brown, Bonnie (Willie) McClendon, Angela (Torri) Williams, all of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Theodius C. Stanley, Miami, Florida, Bennett (Doris) Stanley, Jr., Cordele, Georgia, Craig (Lorrie) Stanley, Texas; daughter-in-law, Eman Dosunmu-Doriney. two wonderful granddaughters, Leila Rose McNear and Ayla Dosunmu-Doriney, a grandson, Cruz Dosunmu-Doriney, a devoted best friend, Pat Rooks, and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
