Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Mae Walker, of Dublin, will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the Jordan Grove Church Of God In Christ, 1908 Highway 319 North in East Dublin. Superintendent Ira Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker, who passed on May 15, 2016, was born on March 27, 1927, to the union of the late Neadom and Rosie Worthen. She was married to the late Melvin Walker, Sr., and to this union, eight children were born.

Mrs. Walker joined Jordan Grove Church of God in Christ at an early age. She faithfully served as an usher, a member of the Mother Board, and a member of the kitchen committee. She was a loving and kind homemaker who enjoyed serving others. She was a avid gardener who took pride in her lovely flowers. She loved cooking for family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, cross word and jigsaw puzzles. Her most favorite pastime of all was reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Walker, Sr.; two sons, Larry Walker and Melvin Walker, Jr.; amd a sister, Ruby Tucker.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her six children, Beverly (Cumming) Brown of Wrightsville, Arnita (Willie) Marion, Dublin, Juanita (Leon) Pittman of East Dublin, Debra (James) Wright and Kenneth Walker, Dublin and Alesia (Willie) Wilbur, Upper Marboro, Maryland; two sisters, Beulah Washington, Dublin and Rosetta Shinn, New York, sixteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 860 Pointe West Loop in Dublin.
