Roger Jackson

Funeral services for Mrs. Roger Lee Jackson, 86, of East Dublin, will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 12 PM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road in East Dublin. Minister Carolyn Norris will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Jackson was born on October 20, 1931, in Johnson County, Georgia, to the late Troy Lee and Marietta Walker Wright. She became a member of Buckeye Baptist Church and accepted, as Lord, Jesus Christ in the early 1980s and later became a member and a Mother of the Church at Running Feet for Christ Christian Center in Soperton, Georgia. She retired after 22 years from J. P. Stevens where she worked as a weaver. In addition, she was a homemaker, co-owner of Jackson Trucking Company, and, most of all, a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Jackson passed away on January 25, 2018.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her two brothers (and sisters-in-law), Ruben (Annie Lee) Wright and Johnny Morgan (Gussie Lee) Wright, and sister (brother-in-law), Ella Lee Wright (Willie “Jabo”) Clover.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Roscoe Jackson, children, Carolyn Norris, Ronnie Davis, Leon Davis, Linda Davis (Roy) Plummer, Rickey Davis, Gregory George, and Bruce (Laura) George , all of East Dublin, brother-in-law, Buford (Barbara) Jackson of Valdosta, sister-in-law, Helen Barlow of Sandersville, stepchildren, Darius (Lynn) Jackson of Dublin, Roscoe Wall, and Wade Jackson of Sandersville, Robin Nell Jackson of Milledgeville, and Leslane (Brian) Gibson of Columbia, South Carolina. She also leaves to cherish three generations of grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends who will truly miss her presence.

The family is receiving friends at 310 Jackson Street in East Dublin.
