Robert O'neal

Funeral services for Mr. Robert O'Neal, Sr., of Dublin, will be held at 1 PM on Monday, December 12, 2016, at the First African Baptist Church, 405 Telfair Street in Dublin. Reverend Keith Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. O'Neal, who passed on December 7, 2016, was born on October 26, 1918, to the late Ully and Mary Kemp O'Neal. He was married to the late Lizzie Mae Walker O'Neal. To this union of seventy years, thirteen children were born.

Mr. O'Neal was a member of First African Baptist Church for many years. He worked at Dudley Lumber Company Saw Mill, and M&M Packing Company and also did construction work for many years.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Karen O'Neal and Eunice O'Neal and by a son.

Mr. O'Neal is survived by thirteen children, Mary (Sammy) Daniel, Sr., Robert (Roslyn) O'Neal, Jr., Garey O'Neal, Lindsey (Andrea) O'Neal, Sr., May Lizzie (Lonnie) Kellam, Diane (Clarence) Coney, Karen (Ronnie) Kellam, Charles O'Neal all of Dublin, Sheila (Darryl) Whisby, Barbara Toombs all of Miami, Florida, Dorothy (Robert) Alton, Doris O'Neal and Tommy (Margie) O'Neal all of Dublin; devoted niece, Jackie Jones; devoted friend, Bernice Walker, fifty six grandchildren, one hundred seventeen great grandchildren, sixty five great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 1222 Academy Avenue in Dublin and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Sunday, 6-7 PM.
