Robert Horne

Funeral services for Mr. Robert L. (R. L.) Horne of Miami, Florida, will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 2 PM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road in East Dublin. Reverend David Flowers will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Horne was born in Wrightsville, Georgia, on August 8, 1937, to the late Hubert and Mozella Norris Horne. Mr. Horne moved to Miami, Florida, in the late 1950s. In 1978, he met his wife, Louellen, and in 1988, they were married. Mr. Horne was employed by Titan of America as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 2007. He passed away on August 11, 2017. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Leon Horne.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife, Louellen Horne, four beautiful daughters, Janice Wright, Carol Hunt, Michelle Adderly, and Tameka Jones, three handsome sons, Corrie Johnson (Nikki), Kary Johnson, and Ernest Johnson, twenty-three grandchildren, Eric McKnight (Sherrena), Lakeisha Ware, Darmon Horne, Kentanta Streeter, (Steve) Monty Williams, Kimani Williams Sr., Sarrena Bennett (Paul), Curtis Horne, Torrian Hunte, Jamal Hunte, Alexis Jones, Ortencia Johnson, N'Kyra Johnson, Alexis Johnson, Kari Johnson Jr., Qwontavion Johnson, Corrie Johnson Jr., Da'Juan Johnson, Ernesia Johnson, Erianna Johnson, Cordell Johnson, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 602-B Sunset Street, Dublin, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, August 18, 6-7 PM.
