York – Rita Louise Auten Sims, 92, of York, SC passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain, NC.
The funeral will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Bratton Funeral Home in York at 2PM with Reverend Barry Allan officiating. The family will receive friends at Bratton Funeral Home one hour prior to the service time. Burial will be at Sandy Plains Baptist Church in Gastonia, 5323 Union Rd. Gastonia, NC 28056.
Born in Gastonia, Rita was the daughter of the late Martin T. Auten and Emma Henderson Auten.
Rita is survived by her sons, Ronald W. Sims of Kings Mountain, NC, Benney J. Sims of Gastonia, NC, brother, Roy Auten, grandchildren, Cassandra D. Hollifield, Jason R. Sims, four great grandchildren, Ashton, Jacob, Dustin, Amber, and one great-great-grandchild, Aden.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon E. Sims, four sisters, and one brother.
