Rev. Ossie Coleman was born October 17, 1940 in the Boxelder community of Red River County to Will and Rena Coleman, He attended and completed the 10th grade at Cheatham High School. He met and married Dorothy Mathis, the love of his life.

He found employment at the Saw Mill in Edgewood and later went to work for the Campbell Soup Company in Paris, Texas as a laborer where he retired after more than 30 years.

He was a faithful man of God, served as a Deacon and later became the proud Pastor of the Shawnee Baptist Church in Boxelder, Texas for 38 years until he entered into rest on December 7, 2017 at the Clarksville Nursing Center. He enjoyed preaching, visiting the sick and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents-Will & Rena Coleman; brothers- Willie and Tobie Coleman; sisters-Fannie Coleman, Flossie Butler, Helen Gean Coleman, and Arlene Hayes.
