Rev Nathaniel Wayne Bailey
At 75 years old Reverend Nathaniel Bailey passed away peacefully at the Boston Medical Center on January 29, 2015 after a brief illness. Reverend Bailey was born September 21, 1939 to Susanna Scott Bailey and Reverend Ejustice Bailey Sr. in Clarksville, Texas.
Rev. Bailey graduated from Cheatham High School in Clarksville, Texas, Wiley College in Marshall, Texas earning Bachelors degree. University of Southern California earning a Masters degree in Public Administration and Boston University earning a Masters degree in Theology.
Reverend Bailey served in the United States Army, he was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Reverend Bailey was an ordained minister at the Concord Baptist Church in Boston where he ministered to the sick, and worked as a servant of God. For many years Reverend Bailey was a loving active member of Boston Medical Center's Prostate Cancer Survivors Group that he attended for over 6 years. Reverend Bailey was very serious about his commitment working with the homeless, mentally challenged, recovering addicts, and ex-offenders in Boston. He was employed by the Dorchester Counseling Center, Bay Cove Human Services, Vinfen Corporation, and Sojourner House Inc. from which he retired. Reverend Bailey believed that respect, dignity, social justice, equality, and respect were God given human rights. For over 50 years he gave compassion, resources, counseling, and care to those whom others might shun. Reverend Bailey was a strong voice for those who had fallen and were trying to regain balance, self-sufficiency, and respectability in their lives. He loved Boston and he shared love and care for its inhabitants.
Reverend Bailey is predeceased by his parents Susanna Scott Bailey, Reverend Ejustice Bailey Sr., his brothers Robert Edward Bailey, and Cornelius Eugene Bailey. Those left to celebrate his life are his siblings: Joyce Ann Bailey Pomares, of Houston, TX; Ejustice Bailey Jr.of Clarksville, TX; Gregory Scott Bailey of Houston, TX; Cornelius Michael Bailey of Clarksville, TX.
