Ray Bierman

Raymond Charles Bierman was born July 20, 1928 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Alice and Proctor Bierman. He passed away at the age of 84 on April 7, 2013 in Hemet, California.

Ray joined the US Marines right out of High School and was a PFC in WWII from 1945-1946 and was a SGT in Korea from 1947-1951. He was honored with the WWII Victory Medal, China Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged and then started a 50 year career as a Plumber working throughout Southern California and eventually starting his own business.

Ray was a motorcycle enthusiast. He absolutely loved riding and racing motorcycles in the desert with family and friends. He was a Past President of San Gabriel Valley Motorcycle Club and was a founder of the famous Barstow to Vegas motorcycle race. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening, reading and taking pictures of his family and his beloved dog, Rosabell. He will be remembered most for his amazing sense of humor and for always being a joke teller - no matter how serious the conversation, you were always waiting for the punchline.

Most importantly, he was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather. He will be forever missed by his wife of 41 years, Rosemary; his children: Paula Barkley, Mike Bierman, James Barrett, Heather Barrett and Eric Bierman; his grandchildren: Christian Ceniceros, Phoebe Bierman, Nathan Barrett, Spencer Barrett, Fiona Barrett, Seydi Bierman and Ethan Barrett. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Pryor.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11:30 AM, with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM. Services will take place at Evans Brown Mortuary Chapel in Sun City. There will be a Graveside Service with Full Military Honors held at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:15 PM the same day.
