Peter Fischer



Peter V. Fischer formerly of Neenah, passed away peacefully on April 23 at the age of 86, at Emeritus Assisted Living in Melborne, Florida. He was born September 11, 1925, in Ipswich, South Dakota to Anton and Mary (Selzer) Fischer. Pete proudly served in the United States Army from 1946-1949. On September 11, 1951, he married Lucille Hieb while working as a ranch hand in Eagle Butte, South Dakota.

After a number of years he moved his family to Neenah, WI, where he built a home and raised six children. Pete worked in construction and proudly pointed out the many homes he also built. He started June 5, 1975, for the Neenah Joint School District in building maintenance, and retired June 5, 1989. After retirement Pete moved to Florida and continued his carpenter skills. He enjoyed building many styles and sizes of bird houses for friends and family. He loved the Florida sunshine and the company of many friends.

Pete is survived by a special friend Bonnie Johnson, a sister-in-law Katie Fischer (Appleton WI), (in laws) Willard /Sharon Heib (Salem So Dakota, his children, Liz Gooding (special friend Tim), Julie (Kevin) Palmbach, Tony (Patsy) Fischer, Pat (Dana) Fischer, Chris (Tom) Krautkramer, and Florence Fischer, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter all from the Fox Valley/Wisconsin.

Internment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery May 10 in Ipswich, South Dakota.

We have been blessed to have had this wonderful man in our lives and he will surely be missed.
