YORK - Peggy Jean Cherry Sigmon, 82, of York, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at her home in York.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday June 11, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday June 11, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church Parlor.
Born September 1, 1931 in Lincoln County, NC, Peggy was a daughter of the late Russell and Louise Nixon Cherry. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, was a registered nurse and later became the office manager of WYCL/WBZK radio station in York. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always willing to help others whenever possible.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Curtis Sigmon of York, SC, children, Major Jeff Sigmon, Sr. (Susan) of York, SC, Dr. Monty Sigmon (Lorie) of Rocky Mount, NC, and Cheri Y. Sigmon of Arlington, VA, and her loving grandchildren, Jeff Sigmon Jr., Courtney Sigmon, Sean Sigmon, Hayley Sigmon, and Connor Sigmon.
