Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Rozier Watkins “Polly”, of Montrose, Georgia, will be held on Monday, November 5, at 11 AM at the Mount Tilla Baptist Church, 2424 Highway 441 South, Irwinton, Georgia. Elder Steven Whipple will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pauline Rozier was born in Danville, Wilkinson County, Georgia, on December 23, 1952, to Alfonza Eugene Rozier and Nealie Jane Hill Rozier. She was the granddaughter of the late Maggie Mae and Gordon Rozier and the late Annie Mae and Clarence Hill. Mrs. Watkins was married to Johnny M. Watkins.

She attended elementary school in Danville at the Bertha Alvin Elementary School. She graduated from the Calhoun Consolidated High in Irwinton, Georgia, and from the Heart of Georgia Technical in Dublin, where she majored in air conditioning. She later earned her AA and Bachelor's Degrees in Education from Middle Georgia College and Georgia College where she received. She later received her Masters and Specialist degrees from Georgia College and State University. She was employed for fifteen years at the Shamrock of Dublin Pants Factory in Dublin Georgia. She was a school bus driver for six years for Laurens County. After receiving her degree, she taught eight years at Oconee Resa in Milledgeville where she served seven counties. While there she was voted Teacher of the Year in 2000. . She taught the remainder of time at the Wilkinson County Schools which was her dream. Mrs. Watkins helped to shape the lives of many children by always giving her best in all situations at both elementary and middle school levels.

Mrs. Watkins’s hobbies were reading and cooking. She would be found late at night talking on the phone to her cousin, Ms. Pynolia Hill of Macon and Mrs. Vanessa Payne of Dublin. She was always willing to try new recipes or come up with one of her own. Mrs. Watkins never met strangers. She was the type of person who found friends everywhere she went. Her motto was "lf l can help someone as I pass this way, then my living would not be in vain".

She joined the church at an early age and was a life-long member of the Millville Baptist Church. She served on the senior Usher Board for over twenty-five years, serving as secretary, and served faithful until her health began to fail. She was a member of the Dublin-Laurens Retired Teachers Association. She was also a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and was a member of Ross Chapter # 85 Order of The Eastern Star. Her attractive personality led her to be an excelling client service associate at the Dudley Funeral Home for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, several sisters, a brother, a devoted sister and best friend, Mae Ellen R. Roseman, a best friend. Myra S. Horne, and by a devoted son. J Wesley Watkins.

She leaves to morn her passing her husband, and two children, Jonika Latrice Witker and Georgette LaShonda Reynolds, both of Atlanta, and her mother who raised her, Mrs. Louise B. Rozier of Danville, seven grandchildren, Elaina Nicole Watkins and Antwan Rashad Watkins of East Dublin, Kameron D'Asia Salter, Tyson Sutton, Jamon Witaker, Jalun Witaker and Gage G. Patton, all of Atlanta, five brothers: Eugene (Eva) Rozier of Toomsboro, Alfonza (Christy) Rozier and Steven (Virginia) Rozier, both of Gordon , Joe (Tina) Rozier of Augusta, five sisters, Maggie R. (Lee) Coley, Arnetta R. (Leon ) Wilcher, JoAnne R. (Rev. Roger) Edwards, Vivian R. Foreman all of Dublin, and Francenia R. (Elder Steven) Whipple of Enterprise, Alabama, aunts, Mrs. Alva Lee Lewis of Milledgeville, and Lainer Drucilla (Benjamin) Strange of Toomsboro, Evelyn (J. W.) Johnson of Irwinton, Doris Shell and Jannie (Odell) Adams of Hampton, uncles, Jeff Davis (Nettie) Hill of Miami, Willie Clarence Hill of Albany and Johnny (Carol) Manson of Irwinton, J. C. (Margaret) Billue of Danville, Charlie (Doretha) Billue of McIntyre, Charles Billue of Riverdale, Zeddie (Erica) Billue of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Larry (Pamela) Billue of Jonesboro. two close cousins who she called her brothers, Bill Charles Holliman and Lemon Rozier, both of Dublin, a mother-in-law, Annie W. Rogers of Montrose, two devoted sisters-in law, Phyllis S. (Eli) Morgan of Forsyth, and Dianne W. May of Montrose, two brothers-in-law, Ira Watkins of Huntsville Alabama, and Glenn Stanley of Macon, She will also truly be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and her many friends.

The family will be receiving friends at the Dudley Funeral Home on Sunday, November 4, 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Millville Baptist Church Building Fund. Please post condolences at ServicesbyDudley.com.
