Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Ann Moore Riley, of Jonesboro, Georgia will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the Forest Chapel Baptist Church, 5150 Whatley Drive in Forest Park. Reverend Calvin Moore will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Valdosta Baptist Church Cemetery in East Dublin.
On Saturday, December 2, 2017, Patricia Ann Moore Riley transitioned to become an Ivy Beyond the Wall to receive a crown of righteousness at fifty-eight years of age. She was the fourth child and younger daughter of Mr. John E. Moore and the late Mrs. Shadie M. Edmond Moore, of Adrian, Georgia.
“Trichiann” as affectionately called by her family, and as “Pat” to some, she accepted Christ at an early age when she joined the Valdosta Missionary Baptist Church in East Dublin, Georgia. After graduation from college, marrying Mr. Alonzo Riley, Mrs. Riley united with the Forest Chapel Baptist Church Family in Forest Park, Georgia, where she served in Forest Chapel faithfully in many capacities including her present position as Financial Secretary.
Mrs. Riley attended school in Soperton, Treutlen County, Georgia, where she graduated from Treutlen High School in 1977. Mrs. Riley was a graduate of the Fort Valley State (College) University with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She later matriculated at several universities to receive the Educational Specialist Degree. Mrs. Riley was not one to boast of her accomplishments but she received numerous awards and honors. Her most cherished award and honor was “Teacher of The Year” at Oliver Elementary School several times.
Mrs. Riley was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; Fort Valley State University Alumni Association; and Viola Hart-Felton Chapter NO. 584 of Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Jurisdiction of Georgia.
Trichiann loved life and people. She was no stranger to those who touched shoulders with her. She was known for her humble, soft spoken but stern personality. She enjoyed educating children. She gave them her adoring smile daily if they did not have one to return as she did with all people. She was loved and revered by many!
Trichiann's fond memories will be forever cherished by her husband, Alonzo; her children, Tiffany L. Riley, Morrow, GA, Delonzo Riley and Chiquita Cole, Fort, Valley Georgia; a loving father, Mr. John E. Moore, Adrian, Georgia; siblings Calvin B. (Carolyn) Moore, McCordsville, Indiana, Marilyn Moore, Dublin, Georgia, and Christopher R. (Deidre) Moore, Hampton, Georgia; aunts and uncles: Lula M. Moore Walker, Rudolph Moore, Ruth Moore Martin, Sallie Moore Perry, Lessie Moore, and Asberry Moore, all for Fort Wayne Indiana; Charles Moore, Toledo, Ohio; Thelma McCrary and Cecil Moore, Adrian, Georgia; Annie P. Montgomery Edmond, Dublin, Georgia; and her special running buddies, LaTonya Harris Thompson, Gail Freeman Dickerson and Joalvetta Stephens Allen. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Patricia Ann Moore Riley’s legacy will be treasured forever.
