Funeral services for Mr. Otha Bargie Charles, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at 11 AM at the Driskell Tabernacle Baptist Church, 223 Martin Luther King Drive in Dublin. Reverend Willie Reed will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow on Monday, February 13, 2018, in the Georgia Veterans Cemetery, 2176 Vinson Highway in Milledgeville.
Mr. Charles, known as "Pop Pop", was born on May 27, 1956, to the late Essie Bell Howard and Hugo Charles, Sr. He graduated from Oconee High School in Dublin. He later served in the United States Army for sixteen years. He worked as a trucker and retired. He became a member of the Greater New Friendship Baptist Church.
He was a very loving, caring and god-fearing man, full of life, and his one of a kind laughter. One of his dreams was to "get some money." He was also preceded in death by three loving sisters, and two loving friends. His life will continue to live on in the people he met. Mr. Charles passed away on February 2, 2018.
Otha leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Kery Charles, one son, Michael (Destiny) Stewart, two daughters, Lanae Johnson, and Pamela Stewart, four brothers, Hugo (Net) Charles, Herbert (Tricia) Charles, Eddie Bargie and James Bargie, ten grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving friends at 514 Alabama Street in Dublin.
