Ossie O'Neal
Funeral Announcement - O'NEAL, Ossie - EDITED
Funeral services for Mr. Ossie L. O'Neal of Dublin will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 12:00 PM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road in East Dublin. Reverend Ricky Stanley will officiate. Burial will follow in Mitchell Grove Church Cemetery in Wrightsville.
Mr. O'Neal was born to Mother Izora Wells O'Neal and the late Brother Robert L. O'Neal. He entered this life on February 06, 1948. He was born and raised in the Buckeye Community in Laurens County, Georgia, and is the youngest of four children of which three brothers, Willie O'Neal, Robert O'Neal and Napoleon O'Neal, preceded him in death.
Mr. O'Neal was born into the body of Jesus Christ at an early age and openly acknowledged Christ by becoming a member of the Holly Springs African Baptist Church, Inc., where he later became a deacon. After 25 years of serving as chairman of the Deacon Ministry at the church, he was totally committed to the cause of serving the body of Christ through praying and ministering. Deacon O'Neal loved singing hymns; two of his most favorite were "A Charge to Keep I Have" and "Guide Me O' Thy Great Jehovah." He loved the Holly Springs African Baptist Church Family very much and did what he could to help edify the body of Christ.
He was a 1967 graduate of B. D. Perry High School in East Dublin, Georgia, and continued on to become a trained 3rd Skill Maintenance Mechanic. Over the course of Mr. O'Neal's career, he was employed by Mohawk Industries, Inc., for twenty-one years and then by Southeast Paper Manufacturing Company for twenty-four years. By the grace of Yahweh God and after 45 years of employment, Mr. O'Neal retired from both companies and just recently retired from the later on March 01, 2013.
Deacon O'Neal met his beloved "One" who would ultimately become his helpmate in 1969, and they later became husband and wife on April 30, 1972. From this blessed 41 year union, four children were given of which two preceded him in death, Baby Jevonda O'Neal and Baby Angel O'Neal. Deacon O'Neal was a very dedicated, fun-loving, charismatic husband and daddy, who believed in providing for his family.
