Funeral services for Mr. Oscar David (O. D.) Wells, of Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 11 AM at the Green Grove Baptist Church, 2418 US Highway 441 South in Dublin. Reverend Milton Hughes will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.

Mr. Oscar David Wells was born on June 20, 1928, in Adrian, Georgia, to the union of the late Henry and Annie Bell Brantley Wells. Mr. Wells was a veteran of the United States Army. He passed away on August 22, 2017 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dublin. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Moorman Hutto, Eloise Wilson, and Gladys Ladner, three brothers, Doug Moorman, Theron (Connie) Wells, and Johnny (Annie) Wells, Sr., and a brother-in-law, Altimont O'Conner.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Retha Chambers Wells, a daughter, Rose (Albert) Taylor of Savannah, step-daughter, Anitha (Cletis) Jones of Titusville, Florida, a sister, Lois (Newt) Boyer of Dublin, a brother, Willie C. Cason of Oceanside, California, a sister-in-law Alfreda O'Connor of Dublin, a brother-in-law, Willie (Ivey) Chambers Jr., stepchildren, Jason Brantley of Titusville, Florida, Theresa (Homer) Berry, Lynn Ellington of Dublin, Lavern (Lee) Galloway of Union City, Georgia, Tyrone (Katherine ) Windom of Atlanta, Linda (Mack) James of Montezuma, Georgia and a host of grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family will receive friends at 436 Valambrosia Road, Dublin, and at the Green Grove Baptist Church on Monday, August 28, 6-7 PM.'
