Funeral Services for Mrs. Ophelia Walker Johnson, 76, of Dublin, will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at 3 PM at the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin. Reverend David Flowers will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Laurens County on July 2, 1939, to the late Ms. Maudell Chapman and the late Mr. Nash Walker. Ophelia, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, always smiled and was not a stranger to anyone. The word of God says, “In order for a person to have friends, they must show themselves friendly.” Throughout her years, Mrs. Johnson met and made many friends. She was a person who loved her family more than life, but loved the Lord more. Mrs. Johnson answered the call to come home from her heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 while resting in the comfort of her home. She is preceded in death by one son, Little Kenneth Johnson; one granddaughter, Little Keona Johnson; two sisters, Dorothy Walker and Jacquelyn Walker; and two brothers, Nash Walker Jr., and Richard Walker.

Her memories will always be cherished by her husband, Grady Johnson of Dublin; stepmother, Daisy M. Walker of Tennille; two daughters, Marcella Johnson of East Dublin and Myra Johnson of Atlanta; three sons, Grady (Tuwanna) Johnson Jr. of Macon, Larry (Joann) Johnson, and Askari (Constance) Johnson, all of East Dublin; five sisters, Vernice W. Lane of Tennille, Evelyn Walker of Michigan, Ethal (Nolen) Stephen of Milledgeville, Rochel (Clarence) Bonner and Mary L. (Andy) Frances of Atlanta; eight brothers, Jerry (Sharon) Chapman, Thurman Chapman and Richard Hicks, all of Dublin, Lamar Walker, Nathaniel Walker, Benjamin F. Walker, all of Tennille, Robert Walker of Macon, and Dwayne H. Walker of Gray; fifteen grandchildren, Monica Dixon, Terence Dixon, Austin Johnson, Askari Lsahun Johnson, Astrid Smith, Audrey Smith, Chad Washington, Telly Johnson, Quinton Johnson, Alex Johnson, Eukeethia Barnes, Caneshia Hill, Gabrielle Johnson, Jessica Johnson and Lamont Johnson; seventeen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and three devoted friends, Mary Graham, Francis Norris and Katrina Burden.

The family will receive friends at 607 South Decatur Street, Dublin.
