Octavious TaShawn Linder was born on October 26, 1977, to Brenda Linder and Rev. Jimmy (Elizabeth) Cordy, Sr., in Wrightsville, Georgia. He, along with his little princess, Bella Ann, departed this life on October 29, 2019.

Shawn had a special relationship with Wrightsville, Georgia. The community was not too small for him, and his larger-than-life persona was never too big for Wrightsville. Together, they made magic. Shawn matriculated through Johnson County Schools, graduating from Johnson County High School in 1994. He attended Middle Georgia State University in Macon, Georgia, before transferring to Southwest Baptist University in Boliver, Missouri. He graduated in 2003 with a bachelors degree in Community Recreation and returned to his beloved community to explore his developed expertise. His gift made room for him in Wrightsville. He was employed by Johnson County Board of Education as a paraprofessional and later worked for a brief stint at Johnson County Family Connections as a Wise Guys Coordinator. In 2009, he returned to Johnson County Schools serving in multiple capacities at both the middle and high school levels until his passing. Shawn was a certified Exceptional Education Teacher at Johnson County Middle High School (JCMHS), and in 2011, he was appointed Athletic Director for Johnson County Middle School (JCMS). Additionally, he was the Assistant Head Football Coach, JCHS, Head Boys and Girls Track Coach, JCHS, and Varsity Boys Basketball Coach, JCHS.

Shawn lived by the passage of scripture in Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Shawn's heart and treasures were made evident by his lifelong commitments. He dedicated his life to education, athletics, children, family, leadership, ministry and God. He was a vanguard and a bulwark for his community.

He was a member of the Professional Educators of Georgia and a dedicated member and Deacon at Thompson Grove Baptist Church. While his gifts continued to make room for him, Shawn made room for his gifts from God. On May 31, 2014, Shawn married his adoring wife, Natalie Davis Linder. Together they gave birth to four beautiful children – twins, Bryson Zackery and Byron Octavious Linder, and Bella Ann Linder (all deceased) and Brayden Nicholas Cordal Linder.

On October 29, 2019, Shawn began his day like any other - as priest of his home. He studied the scriptures with his family and then shared it with his beloved community through social media. His final post was indeed his parting instructions to those he and Bella would leave behind - "Be exalted, O LORD, in your strength; we will sing and praise your might.—Psalm 21:13.

He leaves to honor those words, and cherish he and Bella's memory: his beloved wife, Natalie; the apple of his eye, son, Brayden; grandfather, Jimmy Hightower; father-in-law: Desse Davis; brother-in-law, John Davis; siblings: Sharon Rozier (East Dublin); Annette (Terry) Coley (Augusta, GA); Trish Linder (East Dublin); Michael (Stephanie) Linder (East Dublin); Jimmy Cordy, Jr. (Dublin); Christina Ervin (Wrightsville); Reginald Cordy (Dublin); Jamel (Faith) Cordy (Dublin) and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family and his adoring Johnson County Schools and Wrightsville Community.
