Funeral services for Mr. O. D. Brown of Dudley will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 1:00 PM at Laurens Hill Baptist Church, 1404 Laurens Hill Church Road in Dudley. Interment will follow in the Kurtz Cemetery. Pastor Timothy Jackson will officiate.
Mr. Brown departed this life on April 22. He was born March 29, 1929, to the late John D. Brown and Maggie Rozier in Laurens County.
He attended Laurens County public schools. At an early age he joined Laurens Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was united in holy matrimony to the late Lizzie Pearl Brown in 1952. To this union, they were blessed with six children.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Deloise Coney and Elizabeth Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by four daughters, Rosena (John) Ellington of Macon, Marjorie Brown, Ella (Otis) McClinton both of Dudley and Martressa (Norman) Payne of Dublin; three sons, Carl (Katherine) Rozier, John Glenn (Jackie) Wells both of Dublin and Marvin (Ruby Dean) Wells of Sandersville; four sisters, Elizabeth Johnson, Mary Ann Bloodworth, Gloria Vandover of Dublin, Julia Mae Robertson of Eastman; five brothers, Jack Rozier, Rufus (Jean) Rozier, Lawson Rozier, Lawrence Rozier and Milton (Patricia) Rozier all of Dublin; devoted friends, Willie Knowles, Ella Mae Ashley and Lee Arthur Wright, thirty-seven grandchildren, sixty-eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1212 Bobbitt Street in Dudley and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, from 8-9 PM.
