Funeral services for Mrs. Neomia Boston, of Dublin, will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11 AM at the Warren Grove Holiness Church, 3653 US Highway 441 South, in Rentz. Bishop Harrison Jones, Sr., will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Greater New Friendship Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Boston was born on March 30, 1922, in Cadwell, Georgia, as the second oldest child of the late Willie and Rebecca Mitchell. At an early ag,e she joined the Pine Hill Christian Church along with her family. She attended school in Laurens County up to the second grade. Mrs. Boston, along with her siblings, Robert Lee, Margaret, John Lee, Milton, Lucille, Melonea, Idella, Jacob, and Tommie Lee worked on the farm.

At the age of 16, she married Hoke Burnett in 1938. Mrs. Boston worked until retirement as an assembly line worker for a large bakery. She moved back to Dublin to be near her mother and extended family after the death of her second husband, Norman Boston. She also united with the Warren Grove Holiness Church, where she served faithfully until her health failed. She was an active and devoted member of the usher board for many years. Mrs. Boston passed away on August 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her five brothers, two sisters, three stepsons, and a daughter, Carolyn

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley White of Chicago, Illinois, son-in-law, Lucius Thomas Dorsey of Atlanta, four grandchildren, Rodney and Tyrone White of Chicago, Illinois, Thomas Scott Dorsey, and Carol Michelle Dorsey Rey of Atlanta, multiple great-grandchildren, siblings, Melonea Smith of Jacksonville, Florida, and Idella Jackson of Dublin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 321 Roberts Street, Dublin.
