Funeral services for Mr. Nathaniel Carswell, 68, of Dudley ,will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 2PM at Byrd Hill Baptist Church, 2430 Old Hawkinsville Road, Dudley. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Carswell was born September 24, 1943 in Laurens County, GA to the late, Clifton and Clara Foreman Carswell. He was preceded in death by his son, Willie Carswell; brothers, Otha Carswell, Seymour Swayne, Porter Carswell and Walker April Carswell; sisters, Lillie B. Jenkins and Johnnie B. Burch. He was a member of Byrd Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Carswell is survived by his devoted wife of forty seven years, Mrs. Hattie Pearl Carswell; two sons, Anthony (Connie) Carswell, Dublin, U.S. Navy Chief, Dewayne (Wanda) Carswell, Virginia; three daughters, Cynthia Carswell, Dudley, Tina Carswell, Dublin, Demetria Carswell, Sandersville; mother-in-law, Ruby Lee Blash, Montrose; two sisters, Ora Lee Hunter, Dudley, Clara (Steve) Richmond, Dublin; one brother, Clifton (Ann) Carswell, Macon; sisters-in-law, Wylene Jones, dublin, Nancy (Frank) Clifton, Atlanta, Ruthie Mae Mitchell, Dublin; brother-in-law, Irwin (Lucille) Blash, twenty grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by two nieces and a nephew he raised as his own, Yvonna, Alexis and Christopher Height. The family will recieve friends at 1486 Willis Jackson Road in Dudley.
