Funeral services for Mr. Napoleon "Huddy Pop" Nelson, of Dublin, will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the Everlasting Gospel Non Denominational Church, 1300 South Jefferson Street in Dublin. Dr. Cedrick Cason will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Nelson, who passed on August 26, 2016, was born on April 1, 1942, in Laurens County to the late Napoleon "Sugar Boy" Nelson and Bessie Odum. He was raised by his stepfather the late Earnest Green. He attended Danville School and worked with Smith Farm for many years. He was affectionately known as "HuddyPop". He enjoyed fishing and watching Gunsmoke and Bonanza.

He is preceded in death by a son, Jamie Nelson.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his children, Brenda Coombs, Dorothy Nelson, Ida Nelson, Linda Nelson, Erlene (Samuel) Blash all of Dublin, Toylee Nelson, Ricky Nelson, Dublin, Lorenzo Nelson and Ronnie Nelson both of Montrose; one sister, Ella Mae Green, Vienna; uncle, Emmanuel Slaughter, Montrose, twenty four grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren; special friend, Paul Moss and a host of cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 707 Victoria Circle in Dublin.
