MINNIE ROGERS (TFH)

Minnie Lee Rogers, age 71 departed life on February 9, 2016. She was born February 20, 1945 in Arcola Mississippi to the late Hattie Mae Peavy and Bill Rogers, She attended Mississippi public schools. She relocated to Chicago, Ill and later to Muskegon where she remained a resident. She was employed by Lakos restaurant following her employment at Lakos she worked as a home caregiver for a family friend until she passed.

Minnie united with Corinthians Baptist church in 1999 under the leadership of pastor, Clarence Guy where she served on the mother’s ministry she was a faithful member until her health failed in December 2015. She loved her church family and and enjoyed helping in any way she could.

Minnie was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, she loved visiting with her children and grandchildren on a daily basis, she would talk and joke around making everyone laugh with her witty sense of humor. She loved watching family feud and the news channel, every day at six you would find her in her recliner ready for Steve Harvey and Rev Al Sharpton. She had a heart of gold and loving to everyone she met becoming aunt Minnie or granny to them, and she no problem telling anyone off if they got out of hand. Over her lifetime she made many friends and will truly be missed.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings – brothers: Willie Bowie, Howard Peavy and Willie Ray Peavy; sister: Flora Mosley.

Minnie Leaves to cherish her memory: (2) sons, Kinnis Rogers of Grand Rapids, MI and Kendall Rogers of Muskegon, MI (1) daughter: Gloria Burbridge of Muskegon, MI. (2) sisters Bessie Norman and L.V. Henley both of Sunflower, MS, Her significant other Jessie York sr. (13) grandchildren: Amber, Imari, Cory, James, Kenya, Natasha, Jemesha , Kelcie, Myron, Chasady, Qunette, Ti’Quawna and Ricardo, (10) greatgrands: Damarrion, Kordasia, Jersiah, Aasiyah, Ivy, A’mon, Nehmiah, Jawan, Jaida, and Kenyon. Special friends: Lillie Walker, Dora Broughton, Louise Mims, Sandra Guy, Marcella Hood and Bertha Hill. A host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday February 17, 2016 at Toombs Chapel 2-6pm.
