Melzie Scott

Funeral services for Mr. Melzie "Bo" Lee Scott, Jr., of Wrightsville, will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 3 PM at the Mitchell Grove Baptist Church, 78 Mitchell Grove Church Road, Wrightsville. Reverend Dave Hall will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Melzie Lee Scott was born on December 19, 1947, in Wrightsville, to the late Mr. Melzie Lee Scott, Sr., and Mrs. Adel Tillman Scott. Mr. Scott was employed wit Fred's Pest Control, and the Arrow Exterminating Company for forty six years before his retirement. He was married to Virginia Ervin Scott for forty-six years. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ms. Willene Scott, a nephew, Mr. Jamie C. Outlaw, a mother-in-law, Willie M. Ervin, and by a grandmother, Annie M. Walker. Mr. Scott passed away on February 28, 2020.

Mr. Scott leaves to cherish his memories, by his mother, Mrs. Adel Tillman Scott, his wife, Mrs. Virginia Ervin Scott, of Wrightsville, seven daughters, Mary Bagons of Baxley, Georgia, Sandy Sneed of Atlanta, Teresa D (Anthony) Sneed of Dublin, Karen M. Scott, Vanessa N. Scott, Kendra K. Scott, and Precious Scott, all of Wrightsville, three sons, Kendall Scott, Treyvon B. Smith, both of Wrightsville, Keniyon D. Smith of Savannah, Georgia, grandchildren, Dominique Young, Sandrika Carswell, Sarah Young, of Atlanta, Tevin T. Scott, Keniyon D. Scott, Tamijiah Lincoln , Zoharra M. Scott, Zion K. Scott, of Wrightsville, Deantae (Ty) Snead, and DE'Anthony (Cori) Snead of Dublin, Glenda Jones, Kendrila Jones of Alamo, Georgia, Audi Smith of Wrightsville, six sisters, Mamie (Earnest Lee) Darrisaw of Dublin, Minnie Daniels, Ruth Scott, Shirley Scott, Katherine (the late Andrew) Irwin, and Annette (Shelton) Hall, all of Wrightsville, three brothers, Mr. Winder (Jocy) Scott, of Dublin, Mr. Willie L. Scott, and Mr Jerome Scott, all of Wrightsville, eight grandchildren, three aunts, Lena Leinis, and Jeneua Brooks of Swainsboro, Georgia, and Winnie Johnson of Wrightsville, four sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Wright, Shirley (George) Linder, Louisie Johnson, and Ailene (Thomas) Taylor, two brothers-in-laws, Bennie (Jula) Davis of Wrightsville, James Ervin of Miami, Florida, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 111 Crawford Street, Wrightsville, and at the Dudley Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2020, 6-7 PM.
