Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Mae Powell Mosley, of Vidalia, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 12 PM, at the Harvest Time Faith Center, 506 First Avenue in Vidalia. Reverend Frankie Owens will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Idaho Cemetery.
Life Reflections of Our Beloved Mother
Mrs. Mattie Mae Powell Mosley was born on March 22, 1933, to the late Mattie Moye Powell. She grew up in a small community in Alamo, Georgia. She was the eleventh of twelve siblings, ten of which preceded her in death.
Mrs. Mattie received her education in a small neighborhood school of Alamo, Georgia, and graduated on May 25, 1956. She later moved to McRae, Georgia, where she began her career.
Later in her life, she moved to Vidalia, Georgia, with her four children, where she met a wonderful man, Leodies Mosley and they were married on January 19, 1980. Soon began working in Toombs County at Toombs Manufacturing Company in Vidalia where she worked for many years. Mrs. Mattie was a very good cook also.
Mrs. Mattie confessed a hope in Christ as a baptized believer. She joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Alston, Georgia, under the leadership of Reverend Freddie Owens.
After a long illness, Mrs. Mattie took her flight on March 2, 2020. She was preceded in death, by a wonderful husband, Leodies Mosley, and by a son, Lorenzo Mosley. She leaves to forever cherish her memories her children, Bruce Powell of Millen, Georgia, Beverly (John) McLean of Vidalia, Georgia, Roscoe (Beatrice) King of Garner, North Carolina, Barbara (Willie) Henry of Montrose, Georgia, one sister, Ruthie Clark of Vidalia, Georgia, four sisters-ln-law, Helen Collins of Vidalia, Georgia, Euthera (James) Neal of Fort Myers, Florida, Ginniver Powell of Alamo, Georgia, Evelyn Powell of Vidalia, Georgia, one brother-in-law, James Hall of Vidalia, Georgia, five grandchildren, Royshaun Wilson of Quantico, Virginia, Akira King McClain of San Diego, California, Shelley Baldwin (Donte) Bailey of Florence, South Carolina, Shanna Baldwin of Vidalia, Georgia, Amber Powell of Clearwater, Florida, and five great-grandchildren, two special caregivers, Tosha Rhymes of Vidalia, Georgia, and Michelle Smith of Lyons, Georgia, along with a host of other loving relatives and special friends.
