Mary Waters

Funeral services for Ms. Mary Lizzie Waters, of East Dublin, will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11 AM at the Community Missionary Baptist Church, 627 James Grove Church Road in Wrightsville. Reverend Clifford Hunter will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Ms. Waters, affectionately known as “Bobbie”, transitioned from this life of labor to reward on Sunday, June 21, 2015. She was born on March 4, 1939, in Wrightsville, Georgia, to the late Tommie and Alberta Montford. She received her education from the Johnson County School System. “Ms. Bobbie” was very humble, content, a peacemaker, and a loving mother. She accepted Christ at an early age and raised her children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. She retired after 21 years at Dublinair Nursing Home as a certified nursing assistant. She was an active member of the Saint Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and subsequently served faithfully at the Community Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined.

Ms. Waters was preceded in death by her sisters, Annie Mae Montford, Nora Hicks, and Nadine Elbert, and her brothers, Leo Montford, Elijah Montford, Sr., and John Montford.

From her marriage with the late Enoch Waters, Sr., she leaves her sweet loving spirit and memories with two sons, Reverend Enoch (Evangelist Monica) Waters, Jr. of East Dublin, Rev. Dr. Daren (Carolyn) Waters of Valdosta; and one daughter, Dr. Tama (Johnnie) Freeman of East Dublin. She also leaves behind two brothers: Tommie Lee (Rose) Montford, Jr. and David (Diane) Montford; three sisters: Gloria Montford, Arlene Ray, and Mary Alice (Purlie) Blair, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Reverend Enoch (Monica) Waters, Sr., 304 Gateway Drive, East Dublin.
