Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lee Walker, of Rentz, will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Christ Deliverance Temple Church, 403 East Garner Street in Dublin. Apostle Kenneth Kates, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mount Pullen AME Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker, who passed on December 9, 2016, was born on June 20, 1935, to the late Elder Leonard and Meadie Robinson Freeman in Johnson County.

Mrs. Walker attended Oconee High School. She was employed for many years with Shamrock of Dublin and P. L. Garment until it closed. She then obtained her Nursing Assistant Certification from the Heart of Georgia Technical College. She worked for Dublinair Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center until 2006.

In her early years she was a member of New Bethel, Jordan Grove, Mount Pullen, Kingsview Christian Center, and later began worship with Christ Deliverance Temple Church until the Lord called her home.

Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret; her first husband, Albert Thomas;a brother, Issac Freeman; a sister, Viola Richardson and by four grandsons.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, Lamar Walker; sons, Albert (Ilona) Thomas, St. Roberts, Missouri, Charles (Cynthia) Thomas, Mark (Katherine) Thomas both of Dublin; daughter, Doris (Adebayo) Adeigbe, Roanoke, Virginia; stepdaughter, Latunya Holliman; stepson, LaMorris Walker, Shreveport, Louisiana; sister, Sadie Anderson, Dublin; brothers, MacArthur Freeman, Honolulu, Hawaii, Sammie Freeman, Dublin; a devoted sister-in-law, Betty Bell, Shirley Bell, Bernice Burley, Geraldine Walker, Rosa Mae Walker, Sally Mae Walker all of Dublin; brothers--in-law, Larry Walker, Roy Walker and Beasley Walker all of Dublin and a host of grandchildren, great grandchilden and a host of other relatives and friends.


The family is receiving friends at 2045 Wingate Street in Rentz.
