Maria Elena Cruz Ramirez, 60, of Eden went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Rosary is 7 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at St. Charles Catholic Church. Church Mass is 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at St. Charles Catholic Church followed by burial in Eden Cemetery.

Officiating is Father Yesu; pallbearers are Victor Garza, Charlie (Carlos) Cruz, Severo Soto, Jr., Gonzalo Gonzales, Jr., Robert Adame, Mel Adame and Mark Ramon; and honorary pallbearers are Benito Ramon, Jr., Patrick Garza, Jeffery Garza, Victor Cruz, Jr. and Ruben Cruz, Jr.

Mary was born July 1, 1953 to Mateo and Soila Cruz. She graduated from ASU in 1981 as a Registered Nurse. Luis and Mary Ramirez were married March 23, 1968. Mary worked for Concho County Hospital for over 30 years and served as a member on the Eden City Counsel for several years. Mary was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Mateo and Soila Cruz; In-Laws, Maximo and Candida Ramirez; brothers, Victor and Ruben Cruz; and one grandchild, Maximo Mateo Ramirez.

She is survived by her husband, Luis Ramirez; five children, George Ramirez and wife, Victoria of Eden, Eric Ramirez and wife, Melissa of San Angelo, Kristi Ramirez of San Angelo, Brenda Ramirez of Austin and Brittney Ramirez of Grand Prairie; seven grandchildren, Sierra Rios, Miriam Ramirez, Marissa Ramirez, Andrea Ramirez, Ricardo Trejo, Keagan Manriquez and Geordas Ramirez; three sisters, Martha Adame, Beatrice Soto and Celia Gonzales; two brothers, Mateo Cruz, Jr. and Alex Cruz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
