Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Hill, of Montrose, will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 11 AM at the Mount Tilla Baptist Church, 2424 Highway 441 North in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Mount Tilla Church cemetery. Reverend Kendrick Mack will officiate.

Mrs. Hill, who passed on August 17, 2014, was born on March 16, 1916, to the late George Watkins and Lala (Ashley) Watkins of Wilkinson County. She was joined in holy matrimony to the Mr. Lewis Thomas “Salem” on March 20, 1931. To this union nine children was born.

She is preceded in death by five children, Clinton Hill, George Lewis Hill, Edgar Eugene “Gene” (Hattie) Hill, and Freddie Joe “Red” Hill, all of Laurens County, and Tommie Hill of Ft. Myers, Florida.

Mrs. Hill leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted children and spouses; Bonnie (Fred) Lattimore of Montrose, Janice Harris of Dublin, Jack (Lois) Hill of Miami, Florida; and Clyde (Mildred) Hill of Dublin; one brother, Olyn (Shirley) Watkins of Macon; one sister, Mabel Jones of Macon; two daughters-in-law, Cora Hill of Ft. Myers, Florida, Gloria Hill of East Dublin; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Watkins of Nicklesville, and Emma Watkins of Miami, Florida; twenty (25+) grandchildren, including Randy Hill of Maryland, Marie Hill of Montrose, whom she raised; forty eight plus great grandchildren; and a host of great-great, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends at 927 Chappell Mill Road in Montrose.
