Mary Coneway
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Grace Coneway, of East Dublin, will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the Mount Pullen AME Church, 1304 Lakeway Road, in East Dublin. Reverend Yvonne McGhee will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Coneway was born on November 2, 1929, to Willie D. and Carrie Bell Jones. She joined the Mount Pullen AME Church at an early age. She served as a choir member, steward, stewardess, culinary chairperson for many years and Seniors Are Living Treasures (SALT) member. She was educated at the Washington Street School and later earned her High School Equivalency Diploma at the age of 52. She retired from the Laurens County School System in 1995 after 30 years of dedicated service. Her most enjoyed past times were cooking, gardening, and taking care of family and friends. She had a loving and generous heart and was always sharing with others. She passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Lee Coneway, her oldest son, Willie Melvin Coneway, two sisters, Willie Jewel Mosley, and Linnie Jones Rendall, two brothers, Aaron Jones and James L. Jones.
She leaves loving memories of her to be cherished by her devoted children, Ulysses Coneway of Tampa, Florida, Evelyn (Charles) Pauldo , Eddie Mack Coneway, Marilyn (Jimmy) Blue and Carolyn (Josephus) Miller, all of Dublin, Five grandchildren that were nurtured and reared in her home, Stephanie (Buena) Henderson, Willie (Nicole) Coneway, Donald (Sabrina) Coneway, Rebecca Grace Coneway, and Reverend Mario L. Coneway, nineteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren, one sister, Minnie Hodges of Dublin, eleven sisters-in-law, Mazell Jones of Dublin, Julia Bess of Athens, Patricia Bess, Genette Bess, Rebecca Bess and Murcey Bess, all of Atlanta, Ethel Lean Hunt and Maxie Haynes of Lumber City, Doris Davis of Dublin, Geraldine Moye of Brooklyn, New York, and Janet Jones of Utica, New York, four brothers-in-law, Gary Bess, J. C. Bess, Donald Bess, all of Atlanta, James Haynes of Lumber City, Eddie Rendall of South Carolina, a devoted cousin, Clester Coneway of Dublin, and devoted friends, Mamie Burney, and Richard and Doris Hughes.
The family is receiving friends at 1082 Willie Wood Road in East Dublin.
